Literacy Program
HealthPoint is part of Reach Out and Read, a national, nonprofit organization that promotes early literacy by making books a routine part of pediatric care.

When children age 6 months to 6 years visit a HealthPoint center for a routine check-up, they can choose a new, age-appropriate book to keep. Our doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses are trained to advise parents about the importance of reading aloud to their children, which helps children enter school prepared for success in reading.

Funding for the books comes from Reading is Fundamental, a national program, and local donors.
